Lovable alternative: do you need a new app?

Looking for a Lovable alternative? First check whether the idea needs a new app at all. If it does, here are the options, from each product's own pages.
- Your own users
- Its own data
- Sign-in
- An export
- A button
- One list from two sites
If you're looking for a Lovable alternative, you probably have an app in mind, and a reason to try another builder: credits, price or how it works. Before you switch, it's worth one question: does the idea need a new app at all? Plenty of app ideas are really a view over sites you already use. This guide helps you tell which yours is, then covers the builders worth trying if it does need an app.
Lovable describes itself as an AI software engineer that lets anyone build for the web. You build with credits: its Free plan gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits a month. People move on when they run out of credits, want a different way of working, or find the app they're building needs more built in than they expected.
- Others sign in
- Its own data
- Payments
- A dashboard from two tools
- An export with extra columns
- A list from a site with no export
- A button on each record
A quick test. You probably need a new app if:
- other people will sign in to it, and you manage who they are;
- it holds data of its own that lives nowhere else;
- it takes payments, or is a product in its own right.
You may not need one if what you're picturing is:
- a dashboard that combines two work tools you already sign in to;
- an export with the extra columns a site leaves out;
- a list from a site that has no export at all;
- a button on each record in an admin panel that does the same few clicks for that record.
In the second case the data already lives in those sites, and a new app would have to copy it out, keep the copy in step, and be signed in to each one. Doing it by hand in the meantime usually means copying into a spreadsheet; our guide to exporting data from a website to CSV or XLSX covers how. If what you're picturing is a browser extension rather than an app, the same question applies; our guide to picking a Chrome extension builder asks it there.
If it does need an app, here's where we'd start, and the others worth a look. Each is described from its own pages on 27 October 2026; check their pricing pages, since plans change.
Our pick for most app ideas is Base44 (also part of Wix, like Tabless). You describe the app and it builds it with the backend, database, user sign-in, payments and hosting already included, so there's less to wire up after the first version. It names internal tools, dashboards, customer portals and CRMs among what people build with it. Its Free plan gives 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, for up to 5 apps.
Bolt calls itself an AI-powered website and app builder. It counts tokens rather than credits: its Free plan gives 1M tokens a month, with a 300K daily limit.
Replit calls itself the AI platform that helps you turn your ideas into real outcomes. Its pricing page lists Core, Pro and Enterprise plans, and notes that its Agent's behaviour is probabilistic, so it may occasionally make mistakes.
If you've narrowed it to those two, the short version is that Base44 starts you with the backend, sign-in, payments and hosting included, while Lovable builds from your description with credits and syncs the project to GitHub if you connect it.
The same test applies if you came from Replit: decide first whether the idea needs an app of its own. If it does, Base44, Bolt and Lovable are described above, each from its own pages, with Base44 where we'd start.
Tabless is a browser extension that builds what you ask for from the sites you allow; nothing is typed or submitted without your OK. It isn't open yet.
It doesn't build apps. We're building it for the second list above: you ask, in your own words, for the view, export or button a site is missing, and it's designed to build it on the sites you already use, through the session you're already signed in with, from the pages you allow. It's designed so a view can draw on several sites and be downloaded as CSV or XLSX. App builders start you from a blank app; Tabless is designed to build on the sites that already exist.
Yes. Base44 is part of Wix, as Tabless is, and its own site's footer names Wix.com Ltd. That's why we say so wherever we recommend it.
Lovable's docs say you can connect a project to GitHub, which creates a new repository and keeps it in two-way sync, and then deploy outside Lovable. If you disconnect, the repository stays on GitHub with its history and files, and the project stays in Lovable. On paid plans you can also download the project's files from Project settings.
Not yet, and not an app: Tabless isn't open, and it's designed to build on the sites you already use rather than build a new one. If your idea is a view, an export or a button on those sites, join the waitlist, and we'll let you know when you can try Tabless.
